Tottenham defeated Liverpool 1-0 in the first match of the English League Cup semi-final. The match was played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the home team achieved an important victory on its home field.
Lucas Bergvall scored the only goal of the match in the 86th minute. Bergvall’s perfect strike gave Tottenham the advantage ahead of the rematch. Even though Liverpool put on pressure in the last minutes, they could not find enough opportunities to equalize.
With this result, Tottenham gained the advantage before the rematch to be played on February 6, 2025.
