A cyclist was injured in Assen this afternoon. The cyclist collided with a car at the intersection of Obrechtlaan and Pijperstraat.
The victim was first treated on the street. This happened in winter conditions, bystanders tried with umbrellas to prevent the victim from getting wet from the sleet and rain. Ultimately, the cyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance.
It is not clear exactly what went wrong at the intersection, photos show that an exterior mirror of the car is broken.
