Tibet was hit this morning by a major earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 on the Richter scale. This was reported by the American Geological Survey USGS. The quake killed at least 95 people and injured 130, according to Chinese state news agency Xinhua. There is currently no knowledge of any Belgian victims. Within an hour of the earthquake, six more tremors were recorded in the area, with magnitudes between 4.6 and 5.1. The earthquake was felt as far away as neighboring countries India and Nepal, up to about 400 kilometers away.
