DORDRECHT – Due to a pipe rupture at a Chemours factory in Dordrecht, 45 kilos of the Substance of Very High Concern (ZZS) tetrafluoroethylene escaped during the night from Monday to Tuesday, reports DCMR Environmental Service Rijnmond. Tetrafluoroethylene is a raw material for the production of Teflon, a substance that is used, for example, as a non-stick coating in pans. The substance is possibly carcinogenic.
