Wildlands in Emmen can be visited for a shorter period from next Tuesday. The zoo is reducing its daily opening time by two hours.
For six weeks, from January 7 to February 14, the doors of Wildlands will be open weekdays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Normally, visitors are given longer time in the zoo, namely from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. These times remain in force during the weekend.
According to spokesperson Hanneke Wijshake, the coming weeks will be in the low season, when it is expected that mainly season ticket holders will visit the park. By limiting opening hours, the park can save personnel costs. Moreover, the animals prefer to go to their indoor enclosure earlier in the winter.
A ticket for the period from January 7 to February 16 during the week will be cheaper. Normally an online day ticket costs 28.50 euros, during the shortened opening days the price is 22.50 euros. On weekends you pay full price, but then you also have full opening hours.
