Rosi Mittermaier died two years ago to the day. Her son Felix Neureuther dedicated a post to his mother on Instagram.
On January 4th, 2023, the two-time Olympic champion (downhill and slalom) Rosi Mittermaier died. On the anniversary of her death, her son, former ski racer Felix Neureuther, posted a photo of his mother on Instagram.
The 40-year-old wrote about the snapshot from earlier times: “Miss you mom.” He also put a red heart behind his words. In the photo that Neureuther shares with his fans, Mittermaier can be seen smiling into the camera. She has a small child on her lap. Probably her granddaughter, with whom she was reading a book at the time. Both of them hold this in their hands.
Mittermaier’s daughter Ameli wrote under the ski racer’s post: “So much.” She also added a red heart. Miriam Neureuther, Felix Neureuther’s wife, also posted a red heart.
Numerous winter sports greats also commented on Neureuther’s post. US ski star Lindsey Vonn wrote: “I’m sorry, Felix.” The Norwegian ski racer Atle Lie McGrath also left three red hearts. Football stars such as Bayern’s Thomas Müller and Freiburg’s Christian Günter also “liked” the post.
In addition, fans contacted Neureuther. One person wrote in reference to Mittermaier: “She was a wonderful person. Love lasts forever.” Another user commented: “I can understand it so well!” Yet another person said: “Such a loss… moms can never be replaced.”
Mittermaier died two years ago at the age of 72 after a serious illness.
