Argentine police on Friday arrested a man accused of supplying drugs to British singer Liam Payne before his death.
Payne, known for the band One Direction, died at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16. According to prosecutors, he had used cocaine, alcohol and antidepressants before he fell.
The now arrested 24-year-old man is suspected of selling drugs to Payne two days before his death.
In November, the man denied in a television interview that he had given drugs to Payne, but admitted that he had met the pop star and spent time with her at the hotel.
A total of five people have been charged with crimes related to Liam Payne’s death. Three of them are charged with manslaughter and the other two with supplying drugs. Among the accused are one of Payne’s friends, two hotel managers, an employee and a restaurant waiter.
