Welmoed Sijtsma says that there was a plan on the table to organize a fake wedding in Op1 with her co-host Jort Kelder. “But that did not happen,” said the 34-year-old presenter.
Three years ago there were persistent rumors about a relationship between Jort Kelder and Welmoed Sijtsma. The two then presented the talk show Op1 together and they would also have fun behind the scenes, it was suggested. However, according to her, nothing was right at all: “How on earth did they arrive at that?”
‘It’s not true’
Passers-by may have misinterpreted their togetherness, Welmoed said at the time. “Of course we sometimes meet outside of work to evaluate things and we also sometimes eat something for fun. Would people see us and call the media? So weird.”
Years have now passed, Welmoed has a relationship with a certain Bob and Op1 no longer even exists. How does she look back on the rumors about her alleged affair with Jort? “I thought that was funny. It’s not true, Jort and I both had a good laugh about that,” she says in the Weekend.
Fake wedding
Welmoed now reveals that there was a plan for a fake wedding in Op1. “Yes, we even thought about doing some kind of fake wedding on our last episode of Op1, but that didn’t happen.”
She now has a happy relationship. Where does she see herself in five years? “I still hope to live in Amsterdam with Bob and my two cats. And that everyone is still around me, so that my family is still there and everyone is healthy. Then I’ll be happy for a long time.”
