The domestic fashion brand from Lapland and inspired by its landscapes is closing its doors.
The Hálo fashion brand is discontinuing. Hello
The domestic Hálo fashion brand announces on its Instagram account that it is closing its operations. At the same time, it announces the sale of the remaining stock from the brand’s online store.
– Dear customers and partners, it’s time to say goodbye, because our operations are ending.
The founders of the brand praise both their customers and their partners for the past years. The Finnish clothing brand, known for responsible fashion, was founded in May 2017 by two friends and fashion industry professionals, Marta Valtovirta and Jukka Puljujärvi.
The brand ended up closing its brick-and-mortar store in Helsinki’s Erottaja earlier and focused solely on online sales. In addition, the brand launched a campaign called Save Hálo in the summer of 2023, so that people would help the brand overcome its difficulties by buying and promoting its products.

The last few years have been particularly challenging for many domestic fashion brands.
– The years since Covid have been really challenging. People’s purchasing power, rising interest rates and production costs, and inflation are an unsustainable combination for a small company, the founders and owners of the brand, Valtovirta and Puljujärvi, open about the decision to close in the publication.
– After a long and difficult consideration, we had to come to this solution. The economic situation is challenging around the world, they regret.
– Hálo has been loved by customers, public figures, stylists and the media.
The publication of the discontinuation news has garnered dozens of regretful and sarcastic comments from the brand’s customers and followers.
The brand’s collections have been sold in many countries besides Finland. They have also appeared in several international fashion publications, such as Vogue Scandinavia, Women’s Wear Daily, L’Officiel, Ukrainian and Italian Vogue, Sweden’s Elle, Hong Kong’s Cosmopolitan and Korea’s Marie Claire.
