The force of the Tielt Police Region will be concretely reinforced with 23 additional staff members. This is necessary, because with Meulebeke added, the police have to control a larger area. This involves an estimated one-fifth more police interventions and therefore one more police team will be on the road per day.
“We based ourselves on the figures of recent years. These additional interventions would mainly come in from the afternoon onwards. That is why we provide an extra third shift from eleven o’clock so that citizens no longer have to wait,” explains Chief of Police Filip Feraux.
