Gordon is advised by image expert Zabeth van Veen not to take medication against the restlessness in his body. “Then there is little left of the artist Gordon,” she says.
Gordon’s behavior has seriously damaged his image. Although the singer has been keeping a very low profile lately, he has behaved very rudely in his real-life soap. He really attacked anyone who criticized him and that created feelings of antipathy among people.
High peaks
What does image expert Zabeth van Veen think? “Yes, you know, Gordon just remains Gordon. Anything could happen again tomorrow. Where he says: ‘I’m done with it’, he continues anyway. At one point he finished singing in the Netherlands and left the country, but he then made a musical comeback.”
That won’t change, she continues Weekend. “Everyone has accepted that he is that way, that is his image. There is little point in advising him on this, he will always remain who he is: a fairly loose projectile with deep valleys and high peaks.”
Medication
Gordon would be better off not taking any medication for it, says Zabeth. “You cannot expect someone his age to suddenly change or take medication to calm down his body. Then there is little left of the artist Gordon that the public accepts.”
Medication for his condition can make Gordon very flat, she thinks. “He is like that because he is not flattened and sometimes says crazy things.”
Zen
Gordon needs to stay true to himself, but just slow down a little, she says. “I do respect the fact that he remains true to himself. Suppose he suddenly presents himself as very serious and zen, then the public will not accept this image. Then they think: we’ve had enough of that.”
“If he stops making false statements and killing people, there will be enough of him left to like about Gordon.”
