Mikaela Shiffrin gives hope for a return this winter. Recently there was speculation about an end to the season.

The American, who injured her stomach area in a serious fall in Killington/USA at the end of November, posted a video on social networks that shows her doing fitness training again. “I’m making progress here”wrote the 29-year-old. Shiffrin did not provide any specific information about a possible return.

Shiffrin on comeback: “There’s still a long way to go”

“I hope to be able to do a few easy turns in the snow next week,” wrote the multiple Olympic champion, world champion and overall World Cup winner, but qualified: “There’s still a long way to go before I’m ready to ski really intensely – both in terms of pain and fitness.”

The next phase in her rehab will be “to regain my strength and condition as much as possible”continued the exceptional skier.

Season highlight World Ski Championships in Saalbach

After her fall in Killington at the end of November, Shiffrin had to undergo an operation on December 12th, during which, among other things, the torn oblique muscle was reattached to the iliac crest.

She then questioned whether she could return again this season. The highlight of the Alpine season is the World Championships from February 4th to 16th in Saalbach-Hinterglemm/Austria.
