The band started in the 70s as a bunch of youngsters with simple, pointed pop songs. “We rebelled against the bombastic, symphonic music that was popular at the time,” says drummer Rob Kloet.
Healthy tension
Fifty years later, Henk Hofstede, Rob Kloet and Robert Jan Stips, who joined the band in the early eighties, are still on stage. The hair is now gray, the music is quieter, more subdued and more theatrical, but the joy of playing is still evident. “We still have a healthy tension before we go on stage. That’s just part of it,” says Rob.
