At least ten people, including two children, were killed in a shooting in the Montenegrin town of Cetinje on Wednesday. The police have confirmed this, reports AP news agency. The perpetrator opened fire at two locations and is still on the run.

The 45-year-old man started shooting in a catering establishment after he got into an argument there. He is said to be known for his short-tempered and unpredictable behavior. Gun ownership is widespread in Montenegro. Montenegrin media report that the man shot dead the owner of the bar and then murdered his children at another location.

President Jakov Milatovic said he was “shocked and paralyzed” by the tragedy and Prime Minister Milojko Spajic visited some of the injured in hospital on Wednesday. Three days of national mourning have been declared in the country.

More than two years ago, a major shooting incident took place in Centinje. Then a man shot and killed eleven people, including two children, after a family dispute. The shooter was then shot dead by police.
