Ice hockey player Kristian Vesalainen and soccer player Amanda Rantanen are about to have a baby. They tell about it on Instagram.
– We can’t wait to meet the little one, the couple writes in connection with the sweet Christmas photo.
National team athletes Vesalainen, 25, and Rantanen, 26, have kept a low profile in their relationship. At the beginning of December, Rantanen posted on Instagram picture of the dark living roomwhere Vesalainen was marked, but he was not visible in the picture.
The baby news caused some to rejoice. Among others, Jori Lehterä, Linda Sällström, Lotta Harala and Emil Ruusuvuori sent hearts to the couple.
Rantanen has represented Swedish FC Linköping for the past two years, but now he is leaving the club behind.
– It’s time to go back to Finland and welcome a new little soccer player into this world, Rantanen commented in the club’s announcement.
The striker’s last seasons have been really difficult due to injuries. He has suffered from excruciating leg pain for three years.
– Everything is fine in principle, but the biggest thing in my life, i.e. futis, is missing. I feel bad as an athlete, Rantanen commented to Iltalehte in November.
Vesalainen represents HIFK. He has also played in the NHL in his career with the Winnipeg Jets.
