Milano, 30 December (askanews) – “The census also highlighted the situation of Italians abroad, we also have an important share of the population residing abroad, we have exceeded 6 million, a very differentiated population both by location and by characterization, is very present in Europe, more than 54%, and is very differentiated with respect to the place of birth, in the sense that a lot of the population was born directly abroad and only about 30% refers to people born in Italy who precisely testify migratory processes long-standing.”
This was stated by Saverio Gazzelloni, director of demographic statistics and census for ISTAT.
