Anita Witzier finds it very annoying, and also disturbing, how people pronounce the program name B&B Vol Liefde. She does this differently than most people. “Really much better.”

It is one of RTL 4’s biggest hits: the daily dating show B&B Vol Liefde. When people talk about the program, they usually pronounce B&B in English and that is something that bothers Anita Witzier incredibly. She has presented the language quiz Tien voor Taal for years and believes that you should just say it in Dutch.

In Dutch

Anita finds it very annoying. She says in the Weekend: “I always say B&B in Dutch. I know it comes from Bed and Breakfast, but those letters themselves are much easier to pronounce in Dutch.”

She is also a fan of the program herself, but: “Of course I see through all the tricks. You hear it very clearly when someone from production has said: ‘You have to ask this and that now.’ You hear that. But it is very well made. Jeroen Kijk In De Vegte’s voice-over is also hilarious. That’s half the success!”

Pass rate

There are still real areas for improvement for the program, according to Anita. “The success rate is very low. Then Farmer Seeks Woman will do better.”

“If love is the aim, perhaps you should look at slightly less outspoken types. But then at RTL they are afraid that people will no longer like it.”
