Christmas Day in WZC De Meers had already turned into a mess due to the norovirus, which causes severe abdominal group with vomiting and diarrhea. Staff, residents and visitors had to wear face masks again, and the common areas were off-limits. Ultimately, 45 residents and 20 staff members were infected after the outbreak in mid-December.
