Trijntje Oosterhuis returned from a visit to her regular gynecologist with sad feelings, but also worried feelings. “I immediately bought a fan afterward.”
Life is of course not easy for women who are going through menopause and Trijntje Oosterhuis (51) also suffers from this a lot. Her last visit to the doctor also had something to do with this, the singer reveals in a candid interview A.D. “I was at the gynaecologist,” she confides to the newspaper interviewer.
Fan
Trijntje is very candid about what exactly she did at the gynecologist. She is absolutely not ashamed to tell people that in a national newspaper. “I am going through menopause and wanted to get rid of those hot flashes. The advice was less chocolate, alcohol and coffee – exactly what I want.”
Trijntje therefore ignores that advice. She loves chocolate, alcohol and coffee and she doesn’t want to give that up. Then those hot flashes. “Now I just bought a fan.”
MOT
How is Trijntje’s well-being on a mental level? Things are going a lot better in that regard. “I regularly attend workshops and courses for personal growth – from systemic constellations to mindfulness. Occasional therapy is a MOT for life.”
No, when it really comes to your physical self it is sometimes no fun, the singer concludes. “Twice a year I have to go to the ENT specialist to check my vocal cords. Terrible, that thing in your throat. It never works out well, I stand there gagging. Real horror.”
