The Finn received a warning when he wedged in front of Switzerland’s Nadine Fähndrich.
The second stage of the Tour de Ski was sanctioned by the Jury Jasmi Joensuuta.
– It was all my own fault. I went skiing a bit, Joensuu commented.
Joensuu received a yellow warning card during Sunday’s race. The episode happened in the Toblach 15 km traditional style joint start race at about 3.3 km, when the Finn skied the Swiss by Nadine Fähndrich in front of.
– We went through it. Such things happen. The two slopes on the left side had been skied so much more, so I thought I would get a better grip and then I went in front of him without noticing.
At 3.3 kilometers, there was a black finish affecting the Tour’s sprint points. The woman from the Vantaa Ski Club was the first to cross the finish line and got a full 15 points. The Swiss was second and got 12 points.
– There was no goal whatsoever. Then I realized that I have incredibly slippery skis. I missed a lot of things in the egg position, so I thought I could take the cream, Joensuu reports.
If a Finn receives a second yellow card during the Tour, he will receive a three-minute time penalty on the total times of the Tour.
– The warning does not affect the next races. Must not do anything stupid.

The Finn was sixteenth in the final results of Sunday’s competition. Break up with the front woman to Jessie Diggins accumulated just under a minute and a half.
– It was quite a boring and long day yesterday. I am quite satisfied with my performance on Sunday.
Joensuu got on the podium for the first time in his career, when he was second in the free sprint at the opening stage of the Tour on Saturday.
It meant that with award ceremonies and media interviews, the time at the competition venue was at least 45 minutes longer than usual.
– You probably have to get used to it.
On Saturday, Joensuu said that he has been suffering from sleep problems recently. They date back to when the relationship lasted for five years Juho Simonen ended up breaking up with before Christmas.
– I fell asleep just fine. I was just trying to calm my mind yesterday after the race.
The Rovaniemi resident sent thanks to his personal ski supervisor for his Saturday and Sunday cannon skis Kuisma Taipalee.
