This is due to the distance and the pandemic, but the Queen really wants to change that quickly. But whether that will succeed in time remains to be seen.
Emotional Queen
Until now, Queen Elizabeth only saw little Lilibet via video calls and in countless photos sent from California to the British royal family. In her unusually emotional New Year’s speech, Queen Elizabeth pointed out that it was certainly not an easy year for her, including the loss of Prince Philip and various health problems, but a bright spot was the arrival of four new great-grandchildren. Lilibet is one of them, although the two have never seen each other offline.

“I’ve heard from people in the court that the Queen would love to meet her that way. I also think she really wants that,” royal family author Brian Hoey tells Woman & Home. “I wonder if it will happen, but I like to think so.”
Whether the meeting can also take place in the short term remains to be seen. Prince Harry has said he would like to fly with his family from America to England one day, but he says he cannot get enough police security there. It seems to be choosing or sharing: at 95, Elizabeth no longer has all the time in the world.
Sad Prince Charles
Queen Elizabeth is not the only British royal who has never met Lili. Prince Charles also has to make do with video calls and photos. He has already met Archie and can’t wait to see him again, and so his sister for the first time: “The Prince of Wales is very sad that he has not had the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren, he really miss them very much,” a source close to the royals recently clapped from the school. “Prince Charles has been speaking often with his son in recent months. He loves him and his children and looks forward to spending time with them in the near future.”
