A motorist was arrested in Tilburg on the night of Saturday to Sunday because he was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. A small child was sitting in the backseat of his car at the time. This is reported by the Leijdal police.
The police saw the man drive through a red light in front of them, so they stopped the driver. He ignored that and ran off. Ultimately, the police managed to arrest him.
“We immediately smelled a strong odor of alcohol. After testing, it turned out that the person was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. To make the story even worse: there was also a small child in the back seat,” Leijdal police said on Instagram.
The driver refused to cooperate with blood tests. His driver’s license was taken away and the police reported it to Veilig Thuis.
The penalty the driver will receive will be determined at a later date.
