Harrie Lavreysen did what was expected of him on Saturday evening. The 27-year-old track cyclist from Luyksgestel was the fastest in the sprint section during the National Championships in Apeldoorn. “I’m at the end of my rope, but I really wanted to take action in front of my own audience.”
For Lavreysen, 2024 is over. And what other way than winning did he end a very successful year. The Brabander was too strong for Daan Kool in the semi-finals of the National Championships and in the final he defeated Tijmen van Loon.
Lavreysen also took action on Friday in the stadium in Apeldoorn and took gold in the keirin section. “I am also happy with this jersey again. What a year this has been,” the Luyksgestel native said at the time.
