21 days in China also meant 21 hotels. Although the food was fine, at some point I was done eating from those buffet trays. I felt like a pig that had gained a few pounds.
The last day of our trip we were in Guanghzou. Also known as Canton. A city with almost twenty million inhabitants. We would only fly back to the Netherlands in the evening. So I went into town with the team. What a mega city. The train map of the Netherlands is pretty much the metro map of the Chinese metropolis and of course there were gigantic skyscrapers everywhere.
André Hazes
It was about 35 stops on the subway from the airport to the Kanton Tower. One of the city’s landmarks. We had a lot of attention while singing in the metro. A song by André Hazes sounded from the throats of the team. One Chinese clearly didn’t like our singing and before he got out he cursed us out. We burst out laughing.
