After intensive consultations, the near future of coach Daniel Scherning at Eintracht Braunschweig has been clarified. The coach can stay.
Eintracht Braunschweig is sticking with coach Daniel Scherning despite a disappointing first half of the season. After an intensive analysis, which also included discussions with the 41-year-old, the management and supervisory board of the second division club decided to continue on the previous course. The club announced this three days after the 0-1 defeat against 1. FC Nürnberg.
Braunschweig is currently deep in the bottom of the table and has only managed one win from the last nine games. Sports director Benjamin Kessel explained why the club still relies on Scherning: “I am convinced that we can only achieve the necessary stability and a sporting turnaround with a clear line and continuity. Continuity is not always easy, but at this point in time the right approach if you want to achieve lasting success.” He was confident that they would be able to stay in the league despite the difficult situation.
Scherning took over as coach in Braunschweig in November 2023. Last season he proved that he could save the team from relegation even in an even worse starting position. He also continues to enjoy the trust of the players. Captain Ermin Bicakcic made it clear: “We are 1000 percent behind Daniel.”
