Beşiktaş Club President and presidential candidate Hüseyin Yücel met with congress members and fans in Çanakkale before the extraordinary general assembly with elections to be held on Sunday, December 29. Stating that they will hold an election with two candidates, Yücel expressed his hope that Beşiktaş will be the winner.
“WE EAT YOGURT IS VERY DIFFERENT”
Pointing out that there will be an election in which Beşiktaş’s vision will be voted on, Yücel said, “I would also like to thank Serdar Adalı. Because he could have waited for May, but he did not. He said ‘I am here too’, ‘I am taking responsibility’ and we are going to an election with two candidates. I hope the best will happen, I hope Beşiktaş will win on the evening of the 29th. We are going to a very critical election where only Beşiktaş’s vision will be voted on. Hüseyin Yücel and Serdal Adalı are not the issue, you will vote for Hüseyin Yücel’s vision and Serdal Adalı’s vision. I am not saying that one candidate’s vision is better than the other candidate, but he has already stated that we eat yoghurt very differently, so you should definitely participate in the election. “It is very important in terms of determining the future of Beşiktaş,” he said.
“WE SHOULD DEFINITELY EXIT THE BANKS UNION PROJECT”
Talking about his projects, Mayor Yücel said, “First of all, we will make Beşiktaş’s financial structure sustainable. We have two basic projects related to this. The first is ‘Super APP’, we have already launched it. We will receive serious funds here in the coming months and provide very serious partnerships. The second one is ‘Super APP’. My project is the Akatlar project, which is a little more medium and long term. Beşiktaş can play basketball everywhere, in every hall. But we need to utilize this valuable land and add financial strength to Beşiktaş. We aim to generate an income of around 300 million dollars for Beşiktaş. In this case, Beşiktaş’s very serious problems will be eliminated. On the other hand, the biggest problem that burdens Beşiktaş is this. It is essential for us to leave the Banking Union. Even though Serdal Adalı said that they increased the debt by 100 million Euros, the reason for this increase is 100 million Euros. 50 million Euro is interest payment. 20 million euros is the payment of debts arising from past tax debts. In other words, whoever is elected for 70 million euros will still have a hump on his back next year. That’s why we should definitely get out of this Banking Union project. What Beşiktaş needs most right now is; unity and solidarity. Unfortunately, every president of ours, including Süleyman Seba, was booed badly when he left. We sent our leaders very badly. Finally, Ahmet Nur Çebi was greeted with boos in the general assembly hall. The police escort had to leave the hall accompanied by police protection. These are behaviors that do not suit the principles and stance of our Beşiktaş. If we are elected, one of my first jobs is to make peace with the fans and the football team. Then, to gather our former presidents around a table and give a message of unity and solidarity to the community. Because for the last month, I have really put the sportive meaning aside, but people have personalized the problems among themselves very seriously. One day, someone came out and talked about Beşiktaş’s bedroom in front of everyone. The other day, another friend of ours came out and answered him. Another day, another friend of ours showed up. We hear that Hasan Arat will appear on television and announce something again in the coming days. In other words, we are the enemy of Beşiktaş, we are ourselves again, we are shooting ourselves in the foot again. “This needs to be fixed as soon as possible and we need to capture the spirit of unity and solidarity in the community,” he said.
“BEING A CONQUEST OF HASAN ARAT IS NOT EVEN OUT OF THE QUESTION”
Hüseyin Yücel emphasized that the statements ‘You are the continuation of Hasan Arat’ do not reflect the truth and such a thing is out of the question. Mayor Yücel said, “Serdal Adalı does not need to make a lot of propaganda. He has 2 sentences to say. If he says ‘You are the continuation of Hasan Arat’, he can get away with it like a piece of cake. On the other hand, he is running for the fourth time. He said ‘You are the continuation of Hasan Arat’. Try it,’ he might say. Being a continuation of Hasan Arat is out of the question in terms of vision and mission. Unfortunately, we vomited blood and drank cranberry sherbet. We thought about resigning many times throughout the year. There were some of our own board members who resigned, but it is so tragic that at the last point we reached, a few days before the resignation of the President, I was appointed as the Chairman of the Football A.Ş. Board of Directors, along with my deputies Mete Vardar and Onur Göçmez. We were going to restructure football. We were going to save Beşiktaş from the Brad Friedel-Samet Aybaba dilemma. Onur Göçmez had resigned. It’s about Göçmez withdrawing his resignation. We begged him to bring him back to our ranks. But it was so tragicomic that this time the president resigned the next day. There’s nothing can be done. If today is the worst day, we say Beşiktaş today. “We know very well the formula to overcome these difficulties,” he said.
“WE WILL HAVE ELECTIONS WITH A BRAND NEW MANAGEMENT STAFF”
Pointing out that they will enter the election with a new board of directors, Hüseyin Yücel said, “I continue with only 2 of our 15 friends from the previous period. We have 13 new friends who are young, dynamic and know this job, especially those who can change and reform the financial structure. Again, they are on the board of directors related to the football structuring.” We will create a new Executive Board. We will have board members who understand football. Likewise, we will have a team where we will benefit from outside professionals who only know football. Whatever we suffered, we suffered because of the interference of some of our friends on the board of directors. We can all watch matches and love football. This is a job, there are experts and professionals in this field. I say it everywhere rather than knowing what I know. I know that I don’t know, and I give advice to all our friends on the board of directors about this. Everyone will get involved in the work they are qualified for. Things like going to Ümraniye and taking photos with the players are out of the question anymore. We have come to the end of this. I hope it will be a good choice.
