“We also have to see how we react to Benni’s failure,” said sports director Marcel Schäfer of RB Leipzig on Saturday after confirming that national player Benjamin Henrichs had torn his Achilles tendon. According to “Bild”, the first candidate has been chosen: Amar Dedic (22). In addition, André Silva’s departure is becoming more concrete.

Dedic comes from the youth ranks of sister club Red Bull Salzburg and has established himself in the Austrian Bundesliga in recent years. Its market value rose to 20 million euros in September 2023, but then stagnated and fell to 15 million euros in the latest update due to the current weak season. It is said that the RB bosses could now make the 22-year-old Bosnian a replacement for Henrichs. Rouven Schröder, a former Leipzig resident, works as managing director in Salzburg, but there is no talk of concrete negotiations yet.
Things are much further on the departure side, where alongside Eljif Elmas (25) Silva is also set to leave the club. The center forward once again cannot get past Loïs Openda (24) and Benjamin Sesko (21) this season and was only on the pitch for 302 minutes in 14 games (2x starting eleven), scoring his only goal in the 2-0 win against Holstein Kiel three times ago weeks. At the beginning of the month the Portuguese was linked with Schröder and Salzburg, but now it looks like a move to Spain.
According to the Estadio Deportivo newspaper, talks with Rayo Vallecano about a loan with an option to buy are well advanced. Silva had already spent the 2023/24 season in LaLiga and scored four goals in 26 games at Real Sociedad San Sebastián. Now, a year and a half before the end of the contract in Leipzig, they seem to be going twelfth in the Spanish upper house. With his market value of 5 million euros, Silva would be the most valuable center forward in the squad.
