Hip hip hurray! For some Zoetermeer residents, the holidays have a double meaning. They not only celebrate Christmas or New Year’s Eve, but also their own birthday. Wondering how many there are?

The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) keeps track of all kinds of data about birthdays in the Netherlands. This also applies to the number of birthdays per day and per municipality. There you can see how many Zoetermeer residents have a birthday on December 24, 25, 26 and 31 and on January 1.
Birthday during the holidays
Congratulations to 1174 fellow citizens. They will blow out their birthday candles during the upcoming holidays.
On December 24, Christmas Eve, it concerns 289 year olds. On Christmas Day (25 December) there are 235 Zoetermeer residents’ birthdays and on Boxing Day (26 December) there are 203.
Also during New Year’s Eve there are fellow citizens who have an extra reason to pop the champagne. On December 31, 252 residents of our city have a birthday and on January 1, 195 year olds celebrate their birthday with a bang with fireworks.
