The Swiss Super League is experiencing an exciting season: after the 18th matchday there are currently only six points between first and eighth place. The ranking of players with the highest market value is also tight and after the update there is a new leader: Lausanne’s Alvyn Sanches (21) replaces his teammate Simone Pafundi (18).
Shooting star Sanches is the biggest winner of the update, jumping from 5 million to 9 million euros and from 14th to first place in the league-wide comparison. The midfielder from third in the table has impressed so far with six goals and three assists in the Super League.
The situation is different for Pafundi: The Italian talent came on loan from Udinese Calcio at the beginning of the year and quickly showed top performances, which is why he was named “Player of the Season” in Switzerland by the Transfermarkt community. This season, due to injuries, he only made two short appearances with 17 minutes of playing time in the league. His stay in Lausanne will end in a few days and Pafundi will return to his homeland with a loss of 4 million euros – the most significant in the league – and a new valuation of 6 million euros.
Sanches’ first pursuers are five players with market values of 7 million euros each. While Filip Ugrinic (25) from the Young Boys remains stable, his teammate Joël Monteiro (25; +2 million) as well as the Basel professional Bénie Traoré (22; +2 million) and Albian Hajdari (21; +3 million) are doing well .) and Mattia Zanotti (21; +3 million) from current leaders FC Lugano.
Lugano is also the biggest winner in a comparison of the twelve clubs, increasing by 16.9 million to 55.7 million euros. In addition to Hajdari and Zanotti, the market value curves for players also show Martim Marques (20; +3 million to 6 million) and Ayman El Wafi (20; +3 million to 4.5 million) in Mattia Croci’s squad. Torti steeply upwards. “Lugano is the only Swiss team that is doing well at European level this season. “This will create demand for their players, as is often the case with Super League clubs that shine internationally,” explains the Swiss data scout “doni07” about the numerous upgrades.
Super League: German Kade & Papadopoulos with personal bests
A look at the German Legionnaires shows two big winners. Basel’s Anton Kade (20) and Lugano’s Antonios Papadopoulos (25) recorded a million plus with 3 million and 2 million euros respectively and are now placed at 5 million and 3.5 million euros, respectively, which is a new personal Best mark means. The red pen, however, is placed on former Cologne player Benno Schmitz (30; -1 million to 500,000) and ex-HSVer Sonny Kittel (31; -300,000 to 300,000 euros). Both are under contract with the Grasshopper Club Zurich.
This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this will be here listed. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
