The spicy joke made about Linda de Mol in the ratings hit Even Tot Hier is not well received by her Talpa colleagues. “Her mother died of Alzheimer’s!”, it sounds.

Niels van der Laan and Jeroen Woe, the men of Even Tot Hier, have made a spicy joke about the love reunion of Linda de Mol and Jeroen Rietbergen. They find it ‘unbelievable’ that Linda wants to be with him again and joke that it must be Alzheimer’s. “Linda apparently no longer knows what Jeroen Rietbergen has done.”

Alzheimer’s

Well, her Talpa colleagues — Evert Santegoeds in the lead — don’t like that at all. They are protesting against it at the desk Show news. “If you know what happened in the De Mol family, then that is quite a painful joke,” said the editor-in-chief of Privé.

“Linda’s mother died of Alzheimer’s eight years ago and you don’t have to explain to her what Alzheimer’s is and that anyone can get it. I don’t think someone thought about that or forgot about it for a while.”

No more walking

In the end, Linda’s mother was no longer able to talk, eat or walk independently. “How many times have I thought when I walked out of her door with a big knot in my stomach: I wish she wouldn’t wake up anymore, she would never have wanted this that way,” the TV star said years ago.

Yet she found it incredibly difficult once the time came. “When the day came, there was no relief. Just a lot of sadness.”

Political pamphlet

Back to Evert: has he now finished Even Tot Hier? Not that. “It remains one of my favorite programs, although it has become a political pamphlet in the last two seasons.”

He himself has no problem with Linda being together with Jeroen again. “It is her right, I also said, but not everyone understands that.”

What Tooske Ragas thinks of the Even Tot Hier joke? “Painful.”
