The police, fire brigade and ambulance responded this evening with many people and vehicles after it was reported that someone had heard a ‘splash’ at Kanaaldijk-Noord in Eindhoven. This would have been preceded by a major argument or fight on the quay.

The Eindhoven Canal was first searched from the side with flashlights. The search was then taken over from a fire brigade aerial platform. Due to the investigation, the road at the bridge near the DAF Museum was even closed to all traffic for a while.

The major effort led to a lot of attention from passers-by and residents of an adjacent apartment complex. Ultimately no one was found. The police would like to hear if anyone has gotten a wet suit tonight and is currently at home.
