With a strong season behind him, Martin Schindler also wanted to attack the Darts World Cup. But the big plans were thwarted early on.

Martin Schindler, Germany’s number one in darts, was eliminated from the World Cup in the second round. Like Gabriel Clemens, “The Wall” failed surprisingly early and has to return home. Schindler experienced a debacle on the double fields and was eliminated with disappointing odds. Opponent Callan Rydz from England was able to take advantage of this and won all three sets.

“The strange thing is that I trained doubles before the World Cup,” Schindler explained on DAZN after the match. Only 3 out of 28 attempts were successful, just over ten percent. “I didn’t have the feeling that I was in control of the situation,” explained Schindler. “It’s absolutely bitter. No matter how I act, it doesn’t reflect how I feel inside. It feels dirty,” mourned the Berliner, who is ranked 22nd in the Order of Merit, the world rankings.

2nd set, 4th leg – a thrilling match! Schindler almost manages the 128 finish, but fails on double. And he doesn’t get the remaining 10 either. But Rydz also leaves out the 75!
