Yesterday, De Colliemolen walking club walked with 44 walkers from Staden to Bruges, a journey of almost forty kilometers. The final destination was ‘t Zand in Bruges to donate the money they collected for The Warmest Week. After a whole day of walking, they arrived in Bruges around 6 p.m.
Everyone completed the hike, but the weather was not really ideal. “We don’t have a single person who has dropped out or has blisters. The weather is of course not the best, but we are still happy that it is not flowing,” says Dirk Vandeweghe of De Colliemolen.
The walking club is committed to this year’s commitment to De Warmste Week, the fight against loneliness. That is why in 22025 membership of the club will be free for people in their thirties, so that people are included in a group of friends and do not become lonely. Ultimately, the club was able to present a check for 2,000 euros to the Warmest Week.
