The truck driver who was involved in a fatal accident in Sint Anthonis on Thursday will remain in custody for at least another two weeks. The fact that the woman continued to drive after the accident is being held heavily against her, reports De Gelderlander.

A 14-year-old girl from Sint-Anthonis died in the accident on Stevensbeekseweg.

The police assume that the girl on her bicycle was hit by the truck driver when the truck turned from the Rondveld. Why the 41-year-old woman from Nijmegen then continued driving after the accident is unclear The Gelderlander not yet clear.

Roadside monument
The driver of the truck still reported to the scene of the collision after contacting the police. The woman was arrested there. She was interrogated and was brought before the examining magistrate on Friday. A blood sample was taken from the woman.

A roadside monument has been created at the spot where the fatal accident occurred. There are flowers, cuddly toys, a lantern and cards in the grass along the side of the road.
