Albert Verlinde says he has not yet been asked to be the Wednesday Gijp in Today Inside. “I’ll wait kindly. I’m having a good time no matter which chair I’m sitting in.”
The men from Today Inside are going on Christmas vacation after tonight, but they can’t really sit still, because there is quite a big gap to fill. René van der Gijp will be free every Wednesday after New Year’s Eve and will therefore no longer be seen on SBS 6. A Wednesday Gijp must be found, but who will they choose at VI?
Albert not approached
Albert Verlinde’s name is regularly mentioned, but will he be? “I’m really enjoying the program. I think they should find out what they want with it,” he says in Shownieuws.
Wilfred Genee or the editors of VI have not yet approached him about this, he says. “I really haven’t heard anything about that yet. I’ll wait kindly. I’m having a good time, no matter which chair I’m sitting in, I can see it.”
‘Then I want too!’
The reporter from Shownieuws concludes that Albert is certainly interested in it. “That sounds like: yes, if they want it, then I want it too.”
Albert: “That sounds like: I see. Hahaha.”

Niece and neighbor
Albert has been in the news regularly lately because of all kinds of striking connections. For example, he initially concealed the fact that the blundering RTL Boulevard editor-in-chief, Jorien van der Plas, is his niece. And while he kept her hand above her head in Today Inside. “We have another Christmas dinner soon!”, he apologized.
And then it turns out that Albert also has a very shady neighbor. One who left with 200 million euros in pocket money. Does Albert know where he is?
