THEto Economic maneuver 2025 marks a change of direction in Italian welfare and energy policies. If on the one hand, in fact, the government is trying to address the problem of the birth rate decline, extending a helping hand to families with a new baby bonuson the other hand seeks to accelerate the green transition, eliminating incentives for traditional fossil fuel boilers. Two measures apparently unrelated to each other, but which reflect the need to change direction for the country.

Baby bonus 2025, concrete help for new parents

Trying to respond to the worrying demographic declinewhich sees Italy recording just 6.4 births per thousand inhabitants, with the budget law, therefore, will arrive next year, a new one-off financial support of one thousand euros for every new born or adopted child in 2025. It is the so-called baby bonus.

How to get it

Interesting news about the incentive is the simplicity of accessing the bonus: no paperwork or complex procedures, but a simple online application to INPS. The main requirement is an ISEE of less than 40,000 eurosa threshold that allows access to the benefit even to the middle class. The government has allocated 330 million euros for 2025, a figure that will rise to 360 million in subsequent years.

Not just for Italian citizens

The aid is intended not only for Italian citizens, but also to foreign residents with a long-term residence permit or single work permitwith a view to integrating and supporting all families who contribute to the growth of the country.

Green breakthrough for home heating

On the energy front, however, 2025 marks the end of an era: stop tax deductions for the installation of boilers powered by fossil fuels. A decision that aligns with European directives and which decisively pushes towards more sustainable solutions for home heating.

Stop deductions for the purchase of the boiler

Who will have to replace their boiler, from 2025 you will no longer be able to count on deductions of 50% or 65%unless you opt for more ecological systems such as hybrid systems, biomass boilers or heat pumps. This choice could weigh on citizens’ pockets, as these systems have higher costs, but their installation fits into the broader framework of the European energy transition. It is important to underline that traditional gas boilers can still be installed until 2040, they will simply no longer enjoy tax benefits. A decision that gently but firmly pushes citizens towards more sustainable choices.

Bonus: the challenges of 2025

According to the Government, the two measures serve to balance immediate needs, such as parenting support, with long-term objectives, such as environmental sustainability. A balance that is not always easy to find. The challenge for 2025 will therefore be twofold: on the one hand, supporting demographic recovery with aid to families, and on the other accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable energy system. Two ambitious objectives that require not only the commitment of the institutions, but also the conscious participation of citizens.
