Silver Hetty van de Wouw overcame a serious eating disorder: ‘Losing weight was an addiction for me’

In her darkest times, she sometimes stepped on the scale five times a day. Track cyclist Hetty van de Wouw (26) struggled with a serious eating disorder in the years before her silver medal in Paris. At the end of the year of her breakthrough, she openly tells her story. “If my mother had made stew with sausage, I could become unreasonably angry.”
