Miley Cyrus claims to be a pioneer in sexual liberation. It’s not just about getting naked wherever possible, but above all about encouraging her fans to be who they are.
Miley Cyrus actually takes gender issues and problems in the LGBTQ community seriously. She discusses them in interviews, sometimes sings about them and postulated for herself – even in her short marriage to actor Liam Hemsworth – the right to do things differently than the social mainstream. The singer made her bisexuality public. She was last seen making out with a friend several times before dating Cody Simpson.
A surprising statement from Miley Cyrus comes along in an Instagram story. In it, the 26-year-old said over the weekend that women “don’t have to become lesbians” because “there are good men.” In other words, not all men are bad – some are kind and can even provide sexual satisfaction.
Why is Miley Cyrus duping the LGBTQ community?
Of course, a blow to the LGBTQ community, which likes to claim Miley Cyrus as an icon and now feels betrayed in its fight against discrimination. The pep talk for disillusioned girls and women was branded homophobic and transphobic by many observers. So Cyrus would suggest that queer relationships are the last resort.
For reference, here is Miley Cyrus’ full comment:
“There are good men out there, guys, don’t give up. You don’t have to be gay, there are good people with dicks out there, you’ve just got to find them. You’ve got to find a dick that’s not a dick, you know? I always thought I had to be gay, because I thought all guys were evil, but it’s not true. There are good people out there that just happen to have dicks. I’ve only ever met one, and he’s on this live.”
After numerous commenters responded to Miley Cyrus’ thoughts with harsh words, the singer spoke of blatant mistakes she had made with her advice.
“I talked shit about sucky guys,” said the singer. “But let me be clear, you do not choose your sexuality. You were born the way you are. It has always been my goal to protect the LGBTQ community that I am a part of.”
