NRC Handelsblad believes that Frans Bauer has produced far too many children with his wife Mariska. It concerns four boys, conceived over a period of seven years. “Unreasonable.”
Frans Bauer can currently be seen with his entire family in a Christmas soap on NPO 1 and is also the TV critic of the NRC Handelsblad took a look. “I wanted to see the whole Frans Bauer scene in the garden center,” this lady explains. The folk singer went there with his supporters and that resulted in much-discussed images.
Unreasonably much
It is striking how many children Frans has, according to the NRC. The newspaper speaks of an ‘unreasonable’ number of children. “It would feel good, I thought, to see him walking along long rows of pine trees with Mariska and their unreasonably large number of sons, arguing about how many yards of Christmas lights you can buy before the fun really goes away.”
It is not entirely clear why the number of Frans’ children is called ‘unreasonable’, but it may be about their ecological footprint. After all, four children consume more than two children, one child or better yet: no children. In that sense, Christiaan, Jan, Frans Junior and Lucas are extremely bad for the climate.

Anyway: what does NRC think of the Bauer soap? Once the reviewer started watching, “I wasn’t sure what I was looking at anymore.” “I knew that I appreciated Frans’ sense of drama. After his day at the garden market, he collapsed on the couch. “I’m completely broken,” Frans groaned.
Will there be a sequel? Frans Junior says in the AD: “Dad said that it will remain one season, and that also includes this Christmas special. I always compare it with the Home Alone films: the first was great, the second was fun, from the third onwards no one has an active memory of it anymore.”

In other words: according to Frans Junior, it is better not to return after this year with any more soaps, until they bleed to death like a kind of Family Gillis. “In any case, nothing has been discussed yet about the next season, but I think: you have to stop at your peak.”
