‘The motive for explosions in The Hague may be in a relational atmosphere’

Moshtag B. (33) may be the person behind the explosions at the Tarwekamp in The Hague. According to the AD, the Rotterdam resident with Brabant roots is the ex-partner of the owner of the bridal fashion store at which the attack was most likely targeted, according to the police.

The AD reports that several police sources take into account that the motive for the attack is not criminal, but revolves around the broken relationship between B. and the owner of the bridal fashion store.

Possibly acquaintances
In addition to the Rotterdam resident, the police have arrested three men for possible involvement in the devastating explosions: Ilyas (23) and Mourad (29) from Roosendaal and Adil (33) from Oosterhout. Moshtag B. is said to have approached the three, directly or indirectly, to do the job. It’s possible he already knew them.

B. lived in Roosendaal for quite some time, where, according to the newspaper, he was a member of a chess club. Not long ago he moved to Rotterdam. The Roosendaal suspects are said to be cousins.

Hitting ex-partner
Several police sources therefore take into account that the motive for the attack is not criminal, for example a conflict over drugs, but that it revolves around the broken relationship between B. and the owner of the bridal fashion store.

The ex-partner allegedly wanted to harm the woman materially. The owner’s family previously told the newspaper that they are ‘worried’ about the reason for the attack.
