However, it remains unclear whether the tracks will also be heard on his third record and when it will be released.
Don’t just play the familiar stuff live, but also try something new – Playboi Carti must have been thinking something like that. He made five live debuts at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami. At the open air, Jordan Terrell Carter, as his real name is, appeared as the final headliner on Sunday, December 15th. Reason enough for the 29-year-old US rapper to try out fresh material in addition to the hits and also bring in famous guests as support.
An 18-track set with hits, covers and debuts
Right at the beginning of his show he brought a previously unreleased piece live on stage. The festival crowd was already audibly cheering – the musician from Atlanta was joined by Travis Scott. The “FE!N” rapper was booked as the main act the evening before and now used his extended time at the open air to support his colleague on the track. The titles of the other new songs played live: “COCAINE NOSE”, “WALK”, “DRUGS GOT ME NUMB” and “LIE”. The latter again led to a live duet – with The Weeknd as Carti’s counterpart.
In addition to the new stuff, the crowd also got to hear cover songs. Playboy Carti performed his version of “Type Shit” by Future & Metro Boomin, as well as Travis Scott’s hit “FE!N'” as well as “CARNIVAL” by ¥$ and “Timeless” by The Weeknd.

New album-length material soon to be heard?
It’s quite possible that the new tracks will be featured on Playboi Carti’s next record. He already announced the third LP on social media. So he said that the album title was I AM MUSIC and the successor to the 2020 work WHOLE LOTTA RED would be released in 2024. In September of this year he released the single “All Red”.
However, he did not include the single in his live set for the festival. And concrete release information about his new album is still missing, even though he kept teasing new things on social media and thus made his fans angry because no further details followed.
