Attack by another DJ on Fat Tony: “I was told that the DJ tried to step on my head while I was unconscious on the floor.”
Tony Marnach, also known as Fat Tony, was attacked and injured while performing at Lido Margate in Kent, England. As the DJ announced in an Instagram clip, he then had to go to the emergency room.
“I am devastated”
On December 14, Fat Tony announced on his Instagram channel: “I am devastated to announce that due to unforeseen circumstances I have no choice but to cancel tonight’s event at @number90bar @no90_events. I have doctor’s orders that I need to rest and recover. I will be fine and on the mend – but for now I have to follow the doctors’ advice.”
In the video, the Brit shows himself with a swollen eye. Here he also says that another DJ “attacked him and knocked him unconscious” during his gig. “I spent the night in hospital and had to cancel my planned appearance in London.”
This is how the violent incident occurred
Fat Tony shared further details of the incident with the Resident Advisor. He argued with another DJ when he and his followers stormed into the DJ booth even though he was still playing. The other artist then pushed him three times – but there was probably a reconciliation shortly afterwards. However, this didn’t last long. “Then his buddy came over and said, ‘What’s your problem, you fucking faggot?'” Fat Tony told Resident Advisor. “I then went back to the dressing room to get my USB stick and that’s the last thing I remember. I was completely knocked out and I was told that the DJ tried to step on my head while I was unconscious on the floor.”
Police investigations are ongoing
The DJ therefore does not want to reveal the identity of the attacker. However, he reported the attack as a homophobic crime. There is still no statement from Lido Margate. But according to the BBC, Kent police are now investigating the incident.
