Slammed in the dressing room: a car gone, valuables stolen – and a game abandonment that raises questions.

A state league game was canceled for unusual reasons. During the game between FC Kosova and SC Kapellen (North Rhine-Westphalia), the guests from Kapellen discovered during half-time that strangers had stolen valuables and even a car. The game was then abandoned when the score was 0-1.

Jörg Ferber, sporting director of SC Kapellen, reported to the “FuPa Niederrhein” portal: “We went into the changing rooms at halftime, then the supervisor noticed that someone had broken into the changing rooms where the valuables were.” In addition to the car in question, the thieves also stole cell phones, wallets with cash and other valuables. “They must have been professionals. They already took the tracker out of the stolen car,” says Ferber.

According to current findings, the perpetrators initially took additional car keys, but only stole valuables from the vehicles and then placed the keys back on the driver’s seats. Around 75 percent of SC Kapellen players are said to be affected.

The police were informed immediately and began investigating. It is not yet clear when the canceled game will be rescheduled.
