Flex gadgets are an essential item in perfecting your gameplay in Fortnite Ballistics, the new FPS mode from Epic Games.
At the start of each match of Fortnite Ballistics, you can choose one of the five gadgets that can be purchased in the shop during the match. Each team member is expected to have a different gadget, but unfortunately they are not all the same.
Ranking best Flex gadgets | Fortnite Ballistics —
There are some gadgets that you will want to grab immediately, because they are very useful if used in the right way, while for others it is better not to worry.
We’ve ranked every Flex Gadget in Fortnite Ballistics from worst to best, so you know what to prioritize. If you are still struggling to win in Fortnite Ballistics, you can consult our other guides, such as Tips for Fortnite Ballistics Beginners and the best weapons in Fortnite Ballistics.
Reconnaissance grenade
Recon Grenade is a bit of a victim of Skyline 10 being the only map at launch. In this fast-paced, close-quarters map, it is very rare that someone has the ability to retreat to the point where they can follow up with this weapon. It can be a little useful to throw one before storming a bomb site, but even then other gadgets will be more useful.
Pulse grenade
Like the Recon Grenade, the Pulse Grenade might be more useful in more open future maps, but as it stands, scattering opponents isn’t very useful and there aren’t many places in Skyline 10 where it would be useful for mobility. Plus, again, even in the few scenarios where it might be useful, other gadgets would still be better.
Bubble Shield
This can be useful, but it takes some skill to understand when and where is the best time to use it. However, if you do it right, it could save the lives of you and your teammates, and maybe even change an entire match with just a few seconds of invulnerability. Just don’t forget to have it at that crucial moment.
Frag grenade
Unless you completely miss your target, it’s hard to go wrong with a frag grenade. By using one, you can drive your opponents out of their camp position or inflict massive damage on them that will make them even easier to take down. It won’t always save the day, but if you use it right you can temporarily get the better of someone.
Proximity mine
You might think that proximity mines are useful because they blow people up, but that’s actually not the case. They are quite easy to spot and can be destroyed by shooting. However, their purpose is always to distract and block opponents. If you block their path with a mine, you probably won’t kill them, but you will force them to stop and momentarily aim their weapons at the ground to get rid of them, at which point you can strike.
