Seven men were arrested very early on Sunday morning in Roosendaal for the theft of cigarettes. The theft happened at a transport company on Boerkensleen. Boxes of cigarettes were taken from a truck there and loaded into a box truck.
The report of the theft was received by the police just before half past four on Sunday morning. A witness reported a suspicious situation at the transport company. He saw some men throwing boxes over a fence and putting them in a truck.
The police came to the company with several units. When officers entered the street from different sides, the men ran in all directions.
Officers gave chase and managed to arrest seven men. These are men ranging in age from 21 to 28 years old. The suspects all come from South Holland; from Rotterdam, Delft and Rozenburg to be precise.
To get to the truck with cigarettes, a fence was destroyed. All suspects have been brought to the station and the police are investigating the case.
