Across Syria, people are celebrating the arrival of a new era after the fall of the Assad regime. Yet not all Syrians feel free. For years, the Christian minority enjoyed protection under father and son al-Assad. Now Islamist rulers have the upper hand, causing church members to look to the future with concern. “Many have already fled,” Joseph, pastor of the Armenian Church in Damascus, tells war journalist Robin Ramaekers. “It’s chaos. All we can do is pray.”
