Niclas Füllkrug and West Ham – the chapter could already be ending. According to a report, a top Italian club is considering a loan with an option to buy.
As the Italian portal “Calciomercato.com” reports, the 31-year-old striker was offered to Juventus by his consulting agency ROOF – with a positive response. The “Old Lady” is apparently considering a loan with a subsequent purchase option for the former Dortmund player.
West Ham paid almost 30 million euros for Füllkrug in the summer, but the hoped-for success has so far failed to materialize. The attacker was only able to score one goal in four appearances and has already missed ten games due to injury. He spent the full 90 minutes on the bench in the recent 2-1 win against Wolverhampton.
The situation is also becoming increasingly difficult for coach Julen Lopetegui. Despite the weak offensive – with 20 goals from 15 games – he doesn’t rely on the 30 million man. The “Hammers” are currently in 14th place in the table and the coach is said to have already called for reinforcements for the attack.
However, Füllkrug could only play a supporting role at Juventus. The club plans to use him as a backup for Dušan Vlahović as Arkadiusz Milik is out with a knee injury. Nevertheless, Füllkrug is apparently open to a move to Serie A.
However, those responsible at Juventus also have other options in mind. In addition to Füllkrug, Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese Calcio and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town are also said to be candidates for the striker position.
