Beşiktaş’s reaction to the Twente match ban – Last minute Beşiktaş news

Beşiktaş, one of our representatives in the UEFA Europa League, will be the guest of Twente away in the 8th week. The black-whites announced that the Enschede Municipality decided that the black-white fans would not be allowed into the match. Reacting to this decision, Beşiktaş published an official statement on the issue. In the statement made by the black-white club, the following statements were made:

Mayor of Enschede, Roelof Bleker, has arbitrarily decided that our fans will not be allowed into the UEFA Europa League match, which our Football A Team will play against FC Twente at FC Twente Stadion on January 30, 2025, by presenting reasons devoid of legal basis and reality.

FC Twente in the UEFA Europa League this season; We consider the attitude of Enschede Mayor Roelof Bleker, who accepted away team fans in the matches against Union Saint-Gilloise, Lazio and Fenerbahçe, towards our fans as discrimination and we do not accept this decision.

Enschede Mayor Roelof Bleker, regarding the competition in question, said on Tuesday, December 17; Our club has made an extremely unfair decision by turning a deaf ear to our call not to make any decision before the meeting to be held with the participation of UEFA, FC Twente and Enschede Municipality officials.

Although the host club FC Twente and UEFA conveyed their discomfort regarding this issue to us and Mayor Bleker, Roelof Bleker, who could not ensure security in the city where he was mayor, took the easy way out and decided that our fans would not be allowed into the match with unfounded excuses.

After it was announced by UEFA on 31 August 2024 that the FC Twente-Beşiktaş match would be played on 30 January 2025, Bleker made the decision shortly before the match without any exchange of views with our team and decided to be with our team in the match, which is of great importance for our club to advance to the next round. It has also left our fans who made travel plans for the event in a difficult situation.

As Beşiktaş JK; We would like to inform the public that we will defend the rights of our club and our fans to the end, and that we will take initiatives before our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UEFA to get Enschede Mayor Roelof Bleker to reverse his unlawful decision.
