Catherine Keyl is still very energetic and mediagenic for someone of 78 years old, while 67-year-old Martine van Os complains a lot about her TV work. Just exchange? “Not an option!”
There is no one in the television world who complains as often as Martine van Os. In every interview – and that is no exaggeration, in every interview – she grumbles about the workload and how often she has to work and how much she wants to be home with her husband and how bad it is that she is always away for five weeks. must go for those TV senior trips.
Tough for Catherine
In the meantime, Catherine really wants to return to television, but she says she is not asked. A shame, says Wilfred Genee. He agrees The Friday Move to Omroep MAX boss Jan Slagter: “Why can elderly men continue as usual and elderly women like Catherine Keyl have a much more difficult time? How is that possible?”
Nonsense, says Jan. “Women can carry on. I recently read a message that I have been dissing Catherine Keyl for a while, but that is not true at all.”
No interest
Jan points out that Catherine herself resigned from his broadcaster (namely because of diarrhea attacks). “She stopped at MAX & Catherine herself, and I then had dinner with her twice more. She never came up with a program proposal again and other broadcasters were apparently not interested in continuing with her.”
“But Tineke de Nooij continued to make radio with us until she was eighty, so it is possible. Martine van Os will also continue for a while.”
Complainant
Wilfred doesn’t understand that Martine is being used over and over again. “He complains a lot, doesn’t he? She wants to be with her husband and wants to go on holiday more. Yes, that is a complaint.”
Jan laughs: “No, no, he doesn’t complain. But he is away from home for five weeks in the summer for the program We Are Almost There. Really away from home, isn’t it? I give it to you to do. It may slow down a bit, but it will continue for a while.”
Exchange
Can’t we exchange ‘complainer’ Martine for Catherine? “Otherwise Catherine can take over, right?” says Wilfred.
Jan quietly: “Well, I don’t know.”
Wilfred: “No, isn’t that an option?”
Jan tellingly: “Hahahaha.”
