In addition to Lieven Huys, the new council also has three people from Zwevezele, three from Wingen and two from Ruiselede: Brecht Warnez, Ann Mesure, Tom Braet, Jens Danneels, Sandra Ketels, Greet De Roo-Coens, Yves Bracke and Linda Wyckstandt.
There was some criticism that the aldermanic posts are not divided based on the number of votes. “We have had an agreement for years that we try to achieve a balanced distribution within our council of aldermen. In this case, this means that there is at least one person from the agricultural sector, one person from the business sector and one person from the employee field. This indeed ensures that someone falls out.”
